Faith (2/4)

So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.
As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”
Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.
We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.”
See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness.Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.
Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”But when Jesus heard what had happened, he said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith, and she will be healed.”
For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him.For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.

Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.”Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.”
