What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? | What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? |
God is not a human being, that he should lie, or a mortal, that he should change his mind. Has he promised, and will he not do it? Has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? | God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? |

So I will display my greatness and my holiness and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord. | Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord. |
It is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God. | The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. |
God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. | God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. |
The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it. | The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. |
Adulterers! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. | Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. |
But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day. | But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. |
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God. | Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. |
These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. | But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. |
Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.” | And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. |
I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. | I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. |
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. | The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. |
He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with him. | He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him. |
For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? | For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God? |
Our God is in the heavens; he does whatever he pleases. | But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. |
The Almighty —we cannot find him; he is great in power and justice, and abundant righteousness he will not violate. | Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict. |
For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past, or like a watch in the night. | For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. |
I will sanctify my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when through you I display my holiness before their eyes. | And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. |
Who builds his upper chambers in the heavens, and founds his vault upon the earth; who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the surface of the earth— the Lord is his name. | It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name. |
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “See, the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them as their God; they will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them; he will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away.” | And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. |
And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.” | And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. |
This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts. | This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. |
And ‘to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength,’ and ‘to love one's neighbor as oneself,’—this is much more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. | And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. |
You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder. | Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. |
