And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. | And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. |
Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. | For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. |
|
If you love me, keep my commands. | If ye love me, keep my commandments. |
For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. | For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. |
What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” | What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. |
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. | The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. |
Observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go. | And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself. |
Do not judge, or you too will be judged. | Judge not, that ye be not judged. |
The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” | For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. |
He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets. | And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone. |
Do not make any gods to be alongside me; do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold. | Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. |
Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. | Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. |
If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. | If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. |
Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you. | Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee. |
Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. | Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. |
We have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. | We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments. |
The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us. | And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. |
I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. | I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. |
Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. | Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. |
So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? | He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? |
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. | Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. |
I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life. | I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me. |
We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified. | We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. |
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. | Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. |
Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. | Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. |
