Chinese (traditional)- We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.
- If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.
- If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction,
even their prayers are detestable. - And if we are careful to obey all this law before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness.
- You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
- Observe the commands of the Lord your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him.
- I desire to do your will, my God;
your law is within my heart. - In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
- The Lord commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the Lord our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today.
He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
