There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. | There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. |
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. | For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. |
To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. | For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. |
And those who are in the flesh cannot please God. | So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. |
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit that dwells in you. | But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. |
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. | For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. |
For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received a spirit of adoption. When we cry, “Abba! Father!” | For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. |
It is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God. | The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. |
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us. | For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. |
For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God. | For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. |
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. | But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. |
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. | Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. |
And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. | And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. |
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. | And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. |
What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? | What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? |
He who did not withhold his own Son, but gave him up for all of us, will he not with him also give us everything else? | He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? |
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? | Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? |
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. | Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. |
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. | For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. |
