- When I am afraid,
I put my trust in you. - In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I am not afraid;
what can flesh do to me? - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people.”
- Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
- I, I am he who comforts you;
why then are you afraid of a mere mortal who must die,
a human being who fades like grass? - So we can say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can anyone do to me?” - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.
- The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus.”
- When Jesus heard this, he replied, “Do not fear. Only believe, and she will be saved.”
- But when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and cried out; for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.”
- But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.”
- Do not fear, for I am with you,
do not be afraid, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. - Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.
- With the Lord on my side I do not fear.
What can mortals do to me? - But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”
- I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God's sight. But even the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
- Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
- Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. And even the hairs of your head are all counted. So do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
- It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
- For the customs of the peoples are false:
a tree from the forest is cut down,
and worked with an ax by the hands of an artisan;
people deck it with silver and gold;
they fasten it with hammer and nails
so that it cannot move.
Their idols are like scarecrows in a cucumber field,
and they cannot speak;
they have to be carried,
for they cannot walk.
Do not be afraid of them,
for they cannot do evil,
nor is it in them to do good. - But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated.
- You may say to yourself, “How can we recognize a word that the Lord has not spoken?” If a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord but the thing does not take place or prove true, it is a word that the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; do not be frightened by it.
- For I, the Lord your God,
hold your right hand;
it is I who say to you, “Do not fear,
I will help you.”
Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war rise up against me,
yet I will be confident.Wealth is a ransom for a person's life,
but the poor get no threats. Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right,
and speak the truth from their heart;
who do not slander with their tongue,
and do no evil to their friends,
nor take up a reproach against their neighbors.Next verse!With image
