- Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
- The vine dries up;
the fig tree languishes.
Pomegranate, palm, and apple,
all the trees of the field are dried up,
and gladness dries up
from the children of man. - However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
- Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
- Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
- For as by the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man's obedience the many will be made righteous.

- And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
- You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!
- Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. - For in much wisdom is much vexation,
and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow. - One Sabbath he was going through the grainfields, and as they made their way, his disciples began to pluck heads of grain. And the Pharisees were saying to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?” And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did, when he was in need and was hungry, he and those who were with him: how he entered the house of God, in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those who were with him?” And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”
- And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.
- And that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love.
For you will render to a man
according to his work. - So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
- Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- Know that wisdom is such to your soul;
if you find it, there will be a future,
and your hope will not be cut off. - By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised.
- Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.
- For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
- Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
- And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
