- Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin.
- God detests the prayers
of a person who ignores the law. - Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.
- You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name.
- Everyone enjoys a fitting reply;
it is wonderful to say the right thing at the right time! - I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
- Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
- All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.
- Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.”
- So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
- Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
- I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.
- Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right.”
- Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”
- Hiding hatred makes you a liar;
slandering others makes you a fool. - God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
- Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.”
- One should be kind to a fainting friend,
but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty. - Do not nurse hatred in your heart for any of your relatives. Confront people directly so you will not be held guilty for their sin. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow Israelite, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
- If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine.
- Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.
- Do not withhold good from those who deserve it
when it’s in your power to help them. - And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.
- People who accept discipline are on the pathway to life,
but those who ignore correction will go astray. - People with integrity walk safely,
but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed.
