- Place your hope in the Lord:
be strong and courageous in your heart,
and place your hope in the Lord. - So we must not fall asleep as the others do, but we must stay alert and sober.
- In that way, I can come to you in joy, if God so wills, and be refreshed together with you.
- I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
- If a man has recently been married, he is not to go off to battle nor have any other duty laid on him. He will be free to stay at home for one year so that he can bring happiness to the wife whom he has married.
- He is not here. He has been raised. Remember what he told you while he was still in Galilee: that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners and be crucified and rise again on the third day.
- Although the mountains may be shaken
and the hills may totter,
my steadfast love will not depart from you,
and my covenant of peace will never be shaken,
says the Lord who has compassion on you. - My son, if your heart is wise,
then my heart will be glad. - Seek the Lord while he still may be found;
call to him when he is close at hand. - When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
nor will the waters engulf you.
When you walk through fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not consume you. - The Lord will battle for you. Be calm!
- Ensure that the path you tread is level,
and then your ways will be sure. - They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, and so too will your household.”
- Let your love be sincere. Loathe what is evil and hold fast to what is good.
- Jesus answered them,
“I am the bread of life.
Whoever comes to me will never be hungry,
and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” - The end of all things is near. Therefore, lead disciplined lives and be watchful in prayer.
- Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, it will be enough for us.”
- But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for I bring you good news of great joy for all the people.”
- “Peace be with you,” Jesus said to them again.
“As the Father has sent me,
so I send you.” - For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall also be united with him in his resurrection. We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be destroyed and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
- He made him who did not know sin to be sin for our sake, so that through him we might become the righteousness of God.
- In you, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me. - Yet even if you should suffer for doing what is right, you are thereby blessed. Have no fear of others, and refuse to be intimidated by them.
- I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise will be continually on my lips. - Therefore say to them, “Thus says the Lord God: The fulfillment of my words will not be delayed any longer. What I have said will be done now. This is the word of the Lord God.”
