| Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is made right in God’s sight—something the law of Moses could never do. | Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses. |
| For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. | For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. |
| All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. | Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. |
| But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. | But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. |
| As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.” | But when he had thought this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.” |
| So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall. | Therefore let’s make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience. |
| When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. | And when you are praying, do not use thoughtless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. |
| Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” | So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly My disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” |
| You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law. | We are Jews by nature and not sinners from the Gentiles; nevertheless, knowing that a person is not justified by works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law; since by works of the Law no flesh will be justified. |
| And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: “Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.” | And I heard every created thing which is in heaven, or on the earth, or under the earth, or on the sea, and all the things in them, saying, “To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion forever and ever.” |
| Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it. | Turn from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. |
| True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life. | The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches, honor, and life. |
| I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever. | I will exalt You, my God, the King, And I will bless Your name forever and ever. |
| Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. | Now about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. |
| But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations. | We have sinned, we have done wrong, and acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances. |
| Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. | The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him. |
| “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.” | “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” |
| Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength. | Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone. |
| May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. | Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife. | And the Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them. |
| You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. | You call Me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord’; and you are correct, for so I am. |
| And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. | And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment. |
| Now all glory to God our Father forever and ever! Amen. | Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen. |
| May God give you more and more mercy, peace, and love. | May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you. |
| Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. | I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. |
