Believe and receive (3/4)

For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer on His behalf.
“Listen to me and make up your minds to honor my name,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “or I will bring a terrible curse against you. I will curse even the blessings you receive. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you have not taken my warning to heart.”“If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name,” says the Lord of armies, “then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart.”
For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord. For one who finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the Lord.
Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not to have quarrels over opinions.
I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him.
Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory. Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us, for the glory of God.
All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. So they do it to obtain a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.
I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, but it is the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction.
For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”But Jesus said to him, “ ‘If You can’? All things are possible for the one who believes.”
But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required. But the one who did not know it, and committed acts deserving of a beating, will receive only a few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.
Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place. Now I make known to you, brothers and sisters, the gospel which I preached to you, which you also received, in which you also stand, by which you also are saved, if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.I certainly believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.
You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls. And though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Then he said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me, and anyone who welcomes me also welcomes my Father who sent me. Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.”And He said to them, “Whoever receives this child in My name receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me; for the one who is least among all of you, this is the one who is great.”
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. For with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
Pride leads to conflict; those who take advice are wise.Through overconfidence comes nothing but strife, But wisdom is with those who receive counsel.
So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choice of you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and put Me to the test now in this,” says the Lord of armies, “if I do not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.”
I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!I will raise my eyes to the mountains; From where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.
But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.

And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment. The one who believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
