- The father of godly children has cause for joy.
What a pleasure to have children who are wise. - All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation.
- Before the mountains were born,
before you gave birth to the earth and the world,
from beginning to end, you are God. - My child, pay attention to what I say.
Listen carefully to my words.
Don’t lose sight of them.
Let them penetrate deep into your heart. - My child, never forget the things I have taught you.
Store my commands in your heart.
If you do this, you will live many years,
and your life will be satisfying. - And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.

He breathed the word,

he took the humble position of a slave
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross. - You must not exploit a widow or an orphan. If you exploit them in any way and they cry out to me, then I will certainly hear their cry. My anger will blaze against you, and I will kill you with the sword. Then your wives will be widows and your children fatherless.
- My son, obey your father’s commands,
and don’t neglect your mother’s instruction. - No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
- If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.
- God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
- For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
- There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
- But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
- So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
- For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
- Oh, what joy for those
whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight! - No one is holy like the Lord!
There is no one besides you;
there is no Rock like our God. - For who is God except the Lord?
