| It goes well for a person who is gracious and lends; He will maintain his cause in judgment. | A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. |

| As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. | I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire. |
| The afflictions of the righteous are many, But the Lord rescues him from them all. | Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. |
| A person has joy in an apt answer, And how delightful is a timely word! | A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! |
