- I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.
- On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!”
- That is why the Lord says,
“Turn to me now, while there is time.
Give me your hearts.
Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning.” - Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’
- But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.
- Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other.
- Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.”
- “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”
- Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.
- We all come to the end of our lives as naked and empty-handed as on the day we were born. We can’t take our riches with us.
- And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.
- But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
- But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
- The Lord keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever. - Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.
- Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
- In the night I search for you;
in the morning I earnestly seek you.
For only when you come to judge the earth
will people learn what is right. - For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.
- Enjoy prosperity while you can,
but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God.
Remember that nothing is certain in this life. - The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!
- And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.
- Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven. - So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
- Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven.
- Paul said, “John’s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning Jesus.”
