Creation in Genesis (3/4)

  • No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
  • Fools have no interest in understanding;
    they only want to air their own opinions.
  • Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear!
  • The Lord is good,
    a strong refuge when trouble comes.
    He is close to those who trust in him.
  • You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.
  • Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life.
  • I praise God for what he has promised.
    I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?
    What can mere mortals do to me?
  • Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.
  • When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
  • Our God is in the heavens,
    and he does as he wishes.
  • Pray like this:
    Our Father in heaven,
    may your name be kept holy.
    May your Kingdom come soon.
    May your will be done on earth,
    as it is in heaven.
  • Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.
  • I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.
  • I will teach you wisdom’s ways
    and lead you in straight paths.
  • Oh, the joys of those who do not
    follow the advice of the wicked,
    or stand around with sinners,
    or join in with mockers.
  • Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!
  • My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
  • Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
  • Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith:
    Christ was revealed in a human body
    and vindicated by the Spirit.
    He was seen by angels
    and announced to the nations.
    He was believed in throughout the world
    and taken to heaven in glory.
  • That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
  • I am counting on the Lord;
    yes, I am counting on him.
    I have put my hope in his word.
  • And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
  • God places the lonely in families;
    he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
    But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
  • But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
  • If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?

There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
