- No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.

- Whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear!
- A single day in your courts
is better than a thousand anywhere else!
I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God
than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. - You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.
- That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
- Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.
- I praise God for what he has promised.
I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?
What can mere mortals do to me? - Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.
- Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
May your Kingdom come soon.
May your will be done on earth,
as it is in heaven. - I will teach you wisdom’s ways
and lead you in straight paths. - When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.
- Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers. - Our God is in the heavens,
and he does as he wishes. - I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.
- Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!
- Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith:
Christ was revealed in a human body
and vindicated by the Spirit.
He was seen by angels
and announced to the nations.
He was believed in throughout the world
and taken to heaven in glory. - Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
- My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
- For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
- But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
- You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
- Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
