- This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.
- The heavens are telling the glory of God;
and the firmament proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours forth speech,
and night to night declares knowledge. - And you will say in that day:
Give thanks to the Lord,
call on his name;
make known his deeds among the nations;
proclaim that his name is exalted. - I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
- He declared to you his covenant, which he charged you to observe, that is, the ten commandments; and he wrote them on two stone tablets.
- Because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you stand, through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain.
- My mouth is filled with your praise,
and with your glory all day long. - And every tongue should confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father. - God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God.
- Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them? says the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says the Lord.
- And let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer's heart shall flow rivers of living water.’
- Return, faithless Israel,
says the Lord.
I will not look on you in anger,
for I am merciful,
says the Lord;
I will not be angry forever. - No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made him known.
- For it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall give praise to God.” - He said to them, “Then do you also fail to understand? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile,
since it enters, not the heart but the stomach, and goes out into the sewer?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.) - But the scripture has imprisoned all things under the power of sin, so that what was promised through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
- For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. - For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Turn, then, and live.
- But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
- Yet even now, says the Lord,
return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. - You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,
will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.” - For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.
- Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord God, and not rather that they should turn from their ways and live?
- Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: None of my words will be delayed any longer, but the word that I speak will be fulfilled, says the Lord God.
Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world, as a testimony to all the nations; and then the end will come. For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has—not according to what one does not have.Next verse!With image
