- The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings. - The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. - Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
- “If you will not hear,
And if you will not take it to heart,
To give glory to My name,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“I will send a curse upon you,
And I will curse your blessings.
Yes, I have cursed them already,
Because you do not take it to heart.” - Turn at my rebuke;
Surely I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you. - I called on the Lord in distress;
The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. - And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
- Blessed are those who keep His testimonies,
Who seek Him with the whole heart! - Though the fig tree may not blossom,
Nor fruit be on the vines;
Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food;
Though the flock may be cut off from the fold,
And there be no herd in the stalls—
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will joy in the God of my salvation. - Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.
- For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
- I have made a covenant with my eyes;
Why then should I look upon a young woman? - Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
But counselors of peace have joy. - Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God.
- Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
And Adam said:
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. - The wise in heart will receive commands,
But a prating fool will fall. - For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
- Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
- Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
- Go, eat your bread with joy,
And drink your wine with a merry heart;
For God has already accepted your works. - So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
- “Now, therefore,” says the Lord,
“Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” - Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
- Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes.
Cease to do evil. - He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.
