- I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. What my Father has given me is greater than all else, and no one can snatch it out of the Father's hand. The Father and I are one.
- Live by the Spirit, I say, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh.
- Happy are those who keep his decrees,
who seek him with their whole heart. - When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart.
- Take care, brothers and sisters, that none of you may have an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
- I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous ordinances. - So teach us to count our days
that we may gain a wise heart. - Wait for the Lord;
be strong, and let your heart take courage;
wait for the Lord! - Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord. - Before destruction one's heart is haughty,
but humility goes before honor. - Give heed to my reproof;
I will pour out my thoughts to you;
I will make my words known to you. - Though the fig tree does not blossom,
and no fruit is on the vines;
though the produce of the olive fails
and the fields yield no food;
though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will exult in the God of my salvation. - Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.
- Abba, Father, for you all things are possible; remove this cup from me; yet, not what I want, but what you want.
- For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.
- For what the flesh desires is opposed to the Spirit, and what the Spirit desires is opposed to the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you want.
- But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
- I have made a covenant with my eyes;
how then could I look upon a virgin? - He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
- And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,
“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
this one shall be called Woman,
for out of Man this one was taken.”
Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh. - Go, eat your bread with enjoyment, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has long ago approved what you do.
- Set me as a seal upon your heart,
as a seal upon your arm;
for love is strong as death,
passion fierce as the grave.
Its flashes are flashes of fire,
a raging flame. - And let the one who believes in me drink. As the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer's heart shall flow rivers of living water.’
- Yet even now, says the Lord,
return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. - Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind.
But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you. One who forgives an affront fosters friendship,
but one who dwells on disputes will alienate a friend.Next verse!With image
