Even (4/4)

  • If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
  • However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
  • And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you.
  • As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
  • For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.
  • And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments, and he wrote them on two tablets of stone.
  • For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
  • This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
  • We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
  • The unfolding of your words gives light;
    it imparts understanding to the simple.
  • And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
  • For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God.
  • As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning.
  • As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
  • My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline
    or be weary of his reproof,
    for the Lord reproves him whom he loves,
    as a father the son in whom he delights.
  • Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
  • Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word.
  • The ransom of a man's life is his wealth,
    but a poor man hears no threat.
  • Fine speech is not becoming to a fool;
    still less is false speech to a prince.
  • Do not toil to acquire wealth;
    be discerning enough to desist.
  • He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
  • My flesh and my heart may fail,
    but God is the strength of my heart
    and my portion forever.
  • To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
    and a word in season, how good it is!
  • But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
  • The vine dries up;
    the fig tree languishes.
    Pomegranate, palm, and apple,
    all the trees of the field are dried up,
    and gladness dries up
    from the children of man.
