FOR IT IS GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU TO AND WILL (2/4)

If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is preferable for you to lose one part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna. Now if your right eye is causing you to sin, tear it out and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
Nor would someone light a lamp and then put it under a basket; rather, it is placed upon a lampstand so that it may afford light to all in the house. In the same way, your light must shine so that it can be seen by others; this will enable them to observe your good works and give praise to your Father in heaven.Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
It is the Lord, your God, whom you are to follow. You must fear him and observe his commandments and obey what he tells you and serve him and hold fast to him.You shall follow the Lord your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.
When they arrest you and bring you to trial, do not be concerned beforehand about what you are to say. Simply say whatever is given to you when that time comes, for it will not be you who speak but the Holy Spirit. And when they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you at that time; for you are not the ones speaking, but it is the Holy Spirit.
Keep in mind, therefore, that the Lord, your God, is God. He is a faithful God who keeps his covenant of mercy to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and observe his commandments.Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His faithfulness to a thousand generations for those who love Him and keep His commandments.
You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am wonderfully made; awesome are your works, as I know very well. For You created my innermost parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.
For who is God except the Lord? Who is a rock aside from our God?For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?
And let us consider how to spur one another to love and good works. Do not neglect to attend your assemblies, as some do, but rather encourage one another, especially since you can see the Day approaching. And let’s consider how to encourage one another in love and good deeds, not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Rather, revere Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be prepared to offer an explanation to anyone who asks you to justify the hope that is in you. However, do so with gentleness and respect. But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect.
Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge.Protect me, God, for I take refuge in You.
Indeed, who is God except the Lord? Who is the Rock besides our God?For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?
For I, the Lord, am your God and I grasp your right hand. It is I who say to you, Do not fear; I will help you.For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand, Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’
Dear children, you are from God and you have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
Now the works of the flesh are obvious: fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, anger, quarrels, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you previously, that no one who does such things will inherit the kingdom of God.Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard? So then, does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?
It is better to spend one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in God’s house than dwell inside the tents of the wicked. For a day in Your courtyards is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God Than live in the tents of wickedness.
If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you may ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I wish to make another creature who will be like him.”Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”
You shall keep these things that I command you today in your heart. Teach them to your children. You shall talk of them when you are sitting in your home, and when you are walking along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up.These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.
How wonderful and delightful it is for brothers to live together in unity.Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to live together in unity!
Jesus looked at them and said, “For men it is impossible, but not for God. For God all things are possible.”Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”
If someone among you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without finding fault, and it will be given to him.But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
We have come to know and to believe in the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
In it the righteousness of God is revealed, beginning in faith and established in faith. As it is written: “The one who is righteous will live through faith.”For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: “But the righteous one will live by faith.”
For it has been granted you not only to believe in Christ but also to suffer for him.For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer on His behalf.

But without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever comes to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him.
