- But when I am afraid,
I will put my trust in you. - Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
- If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
- Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.
- As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.”
- So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.
- But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
- Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.
It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. - No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
- May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.
- For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.
- For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.
- How great is the goodness
you have stored up for those who fear you.
You lavish it on those who come to you for protection,
blessing them before the watching world. - He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect.
Everything he does is just and fair.
He is a faithful God who does no wrong;
how just and upright he is! - But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.
- For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.
- For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.
- You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you! - So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.
- Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord,
for our hope is in you alone. - In the blink of an eye wealth disappears,
for it will sprout wings
and fly away like an eagle. - For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.
- Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
- If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.
- God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.
