- But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.

- And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
- Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
- No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good,
and this is what he requires of you:
to do what is right, to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God. - Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.
- Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
- And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.

- Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.
- So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.
