Bible Verses about 'Freedom'

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act—they will be blessed in their doing.
I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me in a broad place.
In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But the scripture has imprisoned all things under the power of sin, so that what was promised through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free.
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You received without payment; give without payment.
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. But now that you have been freed from sin and enslaved to God, the advantage you get is sanctification. The end is eternal life.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke?
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

He shall be free at home one year, to be happy with the wife whom he has married.
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died through the one man's trespass, much more surely have the grace of God and the free gift in the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for the many.
