- A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. - A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. - Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not;
neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity:
for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off. - To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend;
but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. - Iron sharpeneth iron;
so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. - Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
- He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;
but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. - A froward man soweth strife:
and a whisperer separateth chief friends. - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
- He that walketh uprightly,
and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue,
nor doeth evil to his neighbour,
nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. - And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
- Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
- Envy thou not the oppressor,
and choose none of his ways.
For the froward is abomination to the Lord:
but his secret is with the righteous. - Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
- Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
- But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
- But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
- And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
- Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
- Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
- Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
- An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour:
but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. - For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
- Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
- Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory. Selah. Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?Next verse!With image
