Fruit of spirit and holy spirit (4/4)

  • A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
but an undisciplined tongue crushes the spirit.
  • The desires of the flesh result in death, but the desires of the Spirit result in life and peace.
  • I will put my Spirit in you and make you follow my statutes and my ordinances.
  • Jesus said,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless he is born of water and the Spirit.”
  • If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then the one who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit that dwells in you.
  • In the same way, even the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs that cannot be put into words.
  • Those who live according to the flesh fix their attention on the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the Spirit set their thoughts on spiritual things.
  • Even though the fig tree does not blossom
and there is no fruit on the vines,
even though the olive crop will fail
and the orchards will yield no food,
even though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
I will continue to rejoice in the Lord,
and exult in the God of my salvation.
  • My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
a contrite and humble heart, O God,
    you will not spurn.
  • There is one body and one Spirit, as well as one hope to which you have been called by your vocation.
  • The tongue has the power over life and death;
those who cherish it will enjoy its fruits.
  • This is how we can be certain
    that we abide in him
and that he abides in us:
he has given us a share in his Spirit.
  • Therefore, I tell you that every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
  • For I know that through your prayers and with the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will result in deliverance for me.
  • A cheerful heart is excellent medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
  • When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
  • Indeed, the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any two-edged sword, it pierces to the point where it divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and the intentions of the heart.
  • I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know him.
  • Stay awake and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.
  • This is the Lord’s message to Zerubbabel: Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
  • Finally, all of you should be united in spirit, sympathetic, filled with love for one another, compassionate, and humble.
  • The Lord God said, “Behold, man has become like one of us, for he has knowledge of that which is good and that which is evil. Now, we must prevent him from reaching out and taking the fruit of the tree of life lest he eat it and live forever.” The Lord God cast him out of the Garden of Eden; henceforth he was to labor tilling the soil from which he had come.
  • I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you. I will remove from your body a heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh in its place.
  • With all humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in a spirit of love.
  • The heart is more deceitful than any other thing,
    and it is also perverse.
    Who can uncover its secrets?
I, the Lord, search the heart
    and probe the mind
to reward all according to their conduct
    and as their deeds deserve.

Bible verse of the day

For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so too do we believe that God will bring forth with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
