Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.Acquire wisdom and gain understanding; never forget or turn aside from my words.
How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! It is better to acquire wisdom rather than gold, and more desirable to acquire understanding rather than silver.
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. And now, what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized, and have your sins washed away, calling on his name.

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.Blessed is the person who has found wisdom, the one who has gained understanding.
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.Whoever gains wisdom loves his own soul; one who cherishes understanding will prosper.
And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.Everyone who seeks a prize submits himself to rigorous self-discipline in every respect. They do so to win a perishable crown, while we seek an imperishable one.

Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.You want something that you cannot have, so you commit murder. And you covet something but cannot obtain it, so you engage in quarrels and fights. You do not have because you do not ask.
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. Therefore, rid yourselves of everything sordid and of every wicked excess, and welcome in all humility the word that is implanted in you and is able to save your souls.
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.Guide my steps in accord with your word and never let evil triumph over me.
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. The measure that you use for others will be used to measure you.

Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Amen, I say to you, they have already received their reward.
