And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul. And you must always obey the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good. | And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good? |
For I have given rest to the weary and joy to the sorrowing. | For I give plenty of water to the weary ones, and refresh everyone who languishes. |
Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. | Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established. |
Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender. | The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower becomes the lender’s slave. |
