- In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
- O God, you are my God;
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land
where there is no water. - Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool. - How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
- For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
- I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

as we also have forgiven our debtors. - And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
- For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
- Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
- And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as we are this day.
- On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God. - Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
- In God, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I shall not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me? - But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him” - Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
- If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.
- And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
- You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
- Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
- As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
