- A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. - Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not;
neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity:
for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off. - A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. - To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend;
but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. - Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children.
- Iron sharpeneth iron;
so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. - Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
- And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.
- Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
- He that walketh uprightly,
and worketh righteousness,
and speaketh the truth in his heart.
He that backbiteth not with his tongue,
nor doeth evil to his neighbour,
nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. - Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
- Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
- I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live:
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. - For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
- For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
- As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
- He that covereth a transgression seeketh love;
but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends. - And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
- Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
- As the hart panteth after the water brooks,
so panteth my soul after thee, O God. - For thou, O God, hast proved us:
thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. - Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
- Set me as a seal upon thine heart,
as a seal upon thine arm:
for love is strong as death;
jealousy is cruel as the grave:
the coals thereof are coals of fire,
which hath a most vehement flame. - My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God:
when shall I come and appear before God? - Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies,
as much as in all riches.But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. O Lord, thou art my God;
I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name;
for thou hast done wonderful things;
thy counsels of old
are faithfulness and truth.Next verse!With image
