God’s (3/4)

  • For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel's call and with the sound of God's trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord forever.
  • Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.”
  • The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.
  • But he answered, “It is written,
‘One does not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ”
  • In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.
  • For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.”
  • So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.
  • Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.
  • Do not adorn yourselves outwardly by braiding your hair, and by wearing gold ornaments or fine clothing; rather, let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God's sight.
  • Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
  • For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
  • Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, revilers, robbers—none of these will inherit the kingdom of God.
  • For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance.
  • For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication;
that each one of you know how to control your own body in holiness and honor,
not with lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God.
  • For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more surely, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life.
  • Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.
  • I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
  • Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
  • Everyone who commits sin is guilty of lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
  • All who have sinned apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.
  • Just so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
  • In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.
  • If you will only obey the Lord your God, by diligently observing all his commandments that I am commanding you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
  • Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers who deceive themselves.
