| I will show how holy my great name is—the name on which you brought shame among the nations. And when I reveal my holiness through you before their very eyes, says the Sovereign Lord, then the nations will know that I am the Lord. | I intend to prove the holiness of my great name which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. Thus, the nations will know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when through you I will display my holiness in their sight. |
| But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. | This must not be so with you. | The father of godly children has cause for joy. What a pleasure to have children who are wise. | The father of a good man will rejoice; he who begets a wise son will delight in him. |
| For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. No one who is unclean may pass over it; it will serve as a path for pilgrims and no fool will be able to use it. |
| When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. | When my anxious thoughts multiplied, your comfort filled my soul with joy. |
| Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. | Preach the message; be persistent in doing so, whether in season or out of season; convince, reprove, and encourage, but with great patience and instruction. |
