- A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing his opinion. - He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
- Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God.
- Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously;
let this be made known in all the earth. - As far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us. - He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
- By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.
- And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
- You have given me the shield of your salvation,
and your right hand supported me,
and your gentleness made me great.
You gave a wide place for my steps under me,
and my feet did not slip. - To make an apt answer is a joy to a man,
and a word in season, how good it is! - For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
- Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”
- Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.
- When a man is newly married, he shall not go out with the army or be liable for any other public duty. He shall be free at home one year to be happy with his wife whom he has taken.
- Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
- A man without self-control
is like a city broken into and left without walls. - Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
- And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.
- Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’
- Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage! - As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.
- No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
- And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.
- A man of many companions may come to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
