- Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
- If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you.
- Our God is in the heavens;
he does whatever he pleases. - In reply he said to them, “Whoever has two coats must share with anyone who has none; and whoever has food must do likewise.”
- Hatred stirs up strife,
but love covers all offenses. - Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same intention (for whoever has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin).
- No one who denies the Son has the Father; everyone who confesses the Son has the Father also.
- The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
and perverted speech I hate. - No one has ever seen God. It is God the only Son, who is close to the Father's heart, who has made him known.
- Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.
- Lying lips conceal hatred,
and whoever utters slander is a fool. - So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
- For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has—not according to what one does not have.
- All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
- And live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
- Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord! - But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tested me, I shall come out like gold.
My foot has held fast to his steps;
I have kept his way and have not turned aside. - But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the human heart conceived,
what God has prepared for those who love him” - I love the Lord, because he has heard
my voice and my supplications.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live. - Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship is there between light and darkness?
- This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it. - His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
- God is not a human being, that he should lie,
or a mortal, that he should change his mind.
Has he promised, and will he not do it?
Has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? - No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends.
- A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
but only in expressing personal opinion.
Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good.If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
