Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live. - Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
- The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad. - His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
- God is not human, that he should lie,
not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
Does he promise and not fulfill? - Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
- Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

but delight in airing their own opinions. - Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,

and how good is a timely word! - For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
