- Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy. - For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another.
- Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self that is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
- I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have life. - I have instructed you in the ways of wisdom
and led you along the paths of righteousness. - So if I, your Lord and Teacher,
have washed your feet,
you also should wash one another’s feet. - It is better to have little and be righteous
than to acquire great riches with injustice. - And eternal life is this:
to know you,
the only true God,
and the one you have sent,
Jesus Christ. - Whom do I have in heaven except you?
And besides you there is nothing else I desire on earth. - If you know me,
then you will know my Father also.
From now on you do know him.
You have seen him. - And yet he is aware of everywhere I go;
if he were to test me, I would emerge like pure gold.
My footsteps have not strayed from the path he established;
I have followed his way and never turned aside. - This is the commandment
we have received from him:
whoever loves God
must also love his brother. - In you, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me. - For sin is no longer to have any power over you, since you are not under the Law but under grace.
- If you forgive others for the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
- I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you already have so that no one may rob you of your crown.
- So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
- Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
- It is better to have a little and fear the Lord
than to possess immense wealth and suffer anguish. - Whoever denies the Son
does not have the Father,
but whoever acknowledges the Son
has the Father also. - What then should we say? That the Law is sinful? Absolutely not! Yet if it had not been for the Law, I would not have known what sin was. I would not have known what covet is if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
- And now, what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized, and have your sins washed away, calling on his name.
- One who despairs should have the support of his friends
even if he has forsaken the fear of the Almighty. - There is one body and one Spirit, as well as one hope to which you have been called by your vocation.
- Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? You have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body.
