- Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and health to the body. - Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul.
- Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be a healing for your flesh
and a refreshment for your body. - But when he heard this, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”
- You shall worship the Lord your God, and I will bless your bread and your water; and I will take sickness away from among you.
- He heals the brokenhearted,
and binds up their wounds. - A cheerful heart is a good medicine,
but a downcast spirit dries up the bones. - My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. - Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, which you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body.
- Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You received without payment; give without payment.
- Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my help and my God. - Likewise all to whom God gives wealth and possessions and whom he enables to enjoy them, and to accept their lot and find enjoyment in their toil—this is the gift of God.
- Banish anxiety from your mind, and put away pain from your body; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.
- For, while physical training is of some value, godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
- Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
