- Place your hope in the Lord:
be strong and courageous in your heart,
and place your hope in the Lord. - Teach me your ways, O Lord,
so that I may walk in your truth;
let me worship your name
with an undivided heart. - The tongue of the just man is like pure silver;
the heart of the wicked is without worth. - For one believes in the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.
- The heart is more deceitful than any other thing,
and it is also perverse.
Who can uncover its secrets?
I, the Lord, search the heart
and probe the mind
to reward all according to their conduct
and as their deeds deserve. - Let the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart
find favor in your sight,
O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. - Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
- Go forth, then. Eat your bread with joy and drink your wine with a cheerful heart, for God long ago approved what you do.
- The precepts of the Lord are right,
causing the heart to rejoice.
The commands of the Lord are clear,
giving light to the eyes. - Yet even now, says the Lord,
return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning. - Even if an army encamps against me,
my heart will not succumb to fear;
even if war breaks out against me,
I will not have my trust shaken. - But if you seek the Lord, your God, and you strive with all your heart and your soul, you will find him there.
- You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.
- If you confess with your lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with your whole heart, considering the great things he has done for you.
- Take care, brethren, that none of you will ever have an evil and unbelieving heart that will cause you to forsake the living God.
- Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy. - Examine me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and understand my thoughts.
See if I follow an evil way,
and guide me on the way to eternity. - My son, concentrate attentively on my words;
pay heed to the instructions I pass on to you.
Do not let them slip from your mind;
keep them forever in your heart. - When I fed them, they were satisfied;
when they were satisfied, they became proud of heart
and quickly forgot me. - Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
- So today acknowledge it and take it to heart that the Lord is God in the heavens above and on the earth below. There is no other.
- The entire community of believers was united in heart and soul. No one claimed any of his possessions as his own, for everything was held in common.
- As for me, I trust in your kindness;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord
because he has been good to me. - Turn away from youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart.
