Heaven’s (2/3)

  • Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of justice,
    for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  • Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
    let your glory shine over all the earth.
  • Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
    and let your glory shine over all the earth.
  • From that day forward Jesus began to proclaim the message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.”
  • If you forgive others for the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
  • There is no salvation in anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to men by which we can be saved.
  • The heavens were made by the word of the Lord,
    and all their host by the breath of his mouth.
  • Therefore, whoever breaks even one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be considered least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever observes these commandments and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
  • Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God.
  • I lift up my eyes to the mountains;
    from where will I receive help?
    My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.
  • I press on toward the finishing line to win the heavenly prize to which God has called me in Christ Jesus.
  • After John had baptized all the people, and while Jesus was engaged in prayer after also having been baptized, heaven opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.”
  • Nevertheless, do not rejoice in the knowledge that the spirits are subject to you. Rejoice rather that your names are inscribed in heaven.
  • But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them. For it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.”
  • And whenever you stand in prayer, forgive whatever grievance you have against anybody, so that your Father in heaven may forgive your wrongs too.
  • As the heavens are higher than the earth,
    so are my ways higher than your ways
    and my thoughts above your thoughts.
  • He builds his upper chambers in the heavens
    and establishes his vault of the sky over the earth—
    the Lord is his name.
  • The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen.
  • Jesus replied, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
  • While he was departing as they gazed upward toward the sky, suddenly two men dressed in white robes stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking up into the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will come back in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.”
  • I am the living bread that came down from heaven.
    Whoever eats this bread will live forever;
    and the bread that I will give
    is my flesh, for the life of the world.
  • Then he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. While he was blessing them, he departed from them and was taken up to heaven.
  • Above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth, or use any oaths at all. Let your “Yes” mean “Yes” and your “No” mean “No.” Otherwise you may be condemned.
  • In the same way, I tell you, there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.
  • Ah, Lord God, you made the heavens and the earth by your great power and your outstretched arm. Nothing is impossible for you.

Blessed be the God,
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing in the heavens.

Bible verse of the day

In my anguish I cried out to the Lord
and called to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice,
and my cry to him reached his ears.
