| Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. | One who pays attention to the word will find good, And blessed is one who trusts in the Lord. |
| The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin. | The wise of heart will receive commands, But a babbling fool will come to ruin. |

| A fool spurns a parent’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence. | A fool rejects his father’s discipline, But he who complies with rebuke is sensible. |
| How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. | How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. |
| Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray. | One who is on the path of life follows instruction, But one who ignores a rebuke goes astray. |
| But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. | Only be very careful to follow the commandment and the Law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God and walk in all His ways, and keep His commandments and cling to Him, and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul. |
| Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” | But He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one is affluent does his life consist of his possessions.” |
| Now let the fear of the Lord be on you. | Be sure to keep the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you. | You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and His provisions and His statutes which He has commanded you. |

| Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice. | Through overconfidence comes nothing but strife, But wisdom is with those who receive counsel. |
| Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life, but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die. | One who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, But one who is careless of conduct will die. |

| If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. | Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I am commanding you today, that the Lord your God will put you high above all the nations of the earth. |
| Do not take advantage of the widow or the fatherless. If you do and they cry out to me, I will certainly hear their cry. My anger will be aroused, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives will become widows and your children fatherless. | You shall not oppress any widow or orphan. If you oppress him at all, and if he does cry out to Me, I will assuredly hear his cry; and My anger will be kindled, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless. |
| “If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the Lord Almighty, “I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me.” | “If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name,” says the Lord of armies, “then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart.” |
