| As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” | For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. |
| The Lord will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned. | The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. |

| I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” | The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. |

| The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him. | The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. |
| No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. | Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. |
| Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. | Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. |
| Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. | But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. |
| But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love. | Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy. |
| Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. | Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. |
| As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. | Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. |
