| For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? | What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life? |
| A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. | A good man produces good from the store of goodness in his heart, whereas an evil man produces evil from the store of evil within him. For the mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart. |

| For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth. | For the word of the Lord is true, and he is faithful in everything he does. |
| But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. | And my God will fully supply all your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. |
| The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. | I further pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope to which he has called you, how rich and glorious is his inheritance in the saints. |
| Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? | Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? |
| By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. | The heavens were made by the word of the Lord, and all their host by the breath of his mouth. |
