- Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his mercy endures forever. - For the Lord takes delight in his people,
and he crowns the humble with salvation. - The Lord is slow to anger but great in power,
and he will never allow the guilty
to escape punishment.
He makes his way in whirlwind and storm,
and the clouds are the dust beneath his feet. - If you listen to the voice of the Lord, your God, and you do what is right in his sight, if you listen to his ordinances and observe all of his laws, I will not bring upon you any of the diseases that I brought upon the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.
- He is the reflection of God’s glory
and the perfect expression of his very being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word.
Achieving purification from sins,
he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high. - The tax collector, however, stood some distance away and would not even raise his eyes to heaven. Rather, he kept beating his breast as he said, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner.’
- She will give birth to a son, and you shall name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
- His divine power has bestowed on us everything that is necessary for life and for devotion through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue.
- And this is the testimony:
God gave us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son. - Great is the Lord and worthy of the highest praise;
no one can even begin to comprehend his greatness. - The wealth of a rich man is his stronghold;
he regards it as a high wall that cannot be scaled. - For the Lord himself is the one who bestows wisdom;
from his mouth come forth knowledge and understanding. - Anyone who is victorious will be dressed like these in white robes, and I shall not blot his name from the book of life. Rather, I shall acknowledge it in the presence of my Father and his angels.
- For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the sake of the gospel will save it.
- He then called the people and his disciples to him and said to them, “Anyone who wishes to follow me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.”
- The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord shine his face upon you and be gracious to you.
The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace. - It is the Lord, your God, whom you are to follow. You must fear him and observe his commandments and obey what he tells you and serve him and hold fast to him.
- But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those who trust in his kindness. - For he guards the paths of justice
and keeps watch over the way of his faithful ones. - If anyone thinks that he is religious but does not restrain his tongue, he is deceiving himself, and his religion is worthless.
- Alleluia.
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who greatly delights in his precepts. - As a father has compassion for his children,
so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him. - What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his very life? Or what can he give in exchange for his life?
- Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage. - The love of the Lord is never exhausted,
nor do his deeds of mercy ever come to an end.
They are renewed every morning;
his faithfulness never ceases.
This is how we can be certain
that we abide in him
and that he abides in us:
he has given us a share in his Spirit.With all humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in a spirit of love.
