- I am coming quickly; hold firmly to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.

- Love must be free of hypocrisy. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good.
- You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave unpunished the one who takes His name in vain.
- Now I make known to you, brothers and sisters, the gospel which I preached to you, which you also received, in which you also stand, by which you also are saved, if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
- You shall follow the Lord your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.
- The Lord will fight for you, while you keep silent.

One who lives abroad, like all my fathers. - Only be very careful to follow the commandment and the Law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God and walk in all His ways, and keep His commandments and cling to Him, and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- If I should say, “My foot has slipped,”
Your faithfulness, Lord, will support me. - A fool always loses his temper,
But a wise person holds it back. - Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment.
- Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
- When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable,
But one who restrains his lips is wise. - You shall not hate your fellow countryman in your heart; you may certainly rebuke your neighbor, but you are not to incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance, nor hold any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord.
- Do all things without complaining or arguments; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding firmly the word of life.

A stronghold in the day of trouble,
And He knows those who take refuge in Him. - Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise;
When he closes his lips, he is considered prudent. - You, Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me;
Your mercy and Your truth will continually watch over me.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.A prudent person sees evil and hides himself;
