- Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.

But a wise man holds them back. - Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment.
- Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
- In the multitude of words sin is not lacking,
But he who restrains his lips is wise. - Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life.
- The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him. - Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace;
When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive. - Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O Lord;
Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me. - For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.
Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise.
