Bible Verses about 'Humble'
- Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
- For the Lord takes delight in his people;
he crowns the humble with victory. - Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
- Good and upright is the Lord;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way. - Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.
- Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
- If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
- When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom. - Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
- Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble.
- For this is what the high and exalted One says—
he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
“I live in a high and holy place,
but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly
and to revive the heart of the contrite.” - Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God.
Do not forget the helpless. - Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower.
- Pride brings a person low,
but the lowly in spirit gain honor. - Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion!
Shout, Daughter Jerusalem!
See, your king comes to you,
righteous and victorious,
lowly and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey. - The Lord sends poverty and wealth;
he humbles and he exalts. - Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.
- Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
- Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross! - He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
