- Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
- Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
- For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people:
he will beautify the meek with salvation. - Good and upright is the Lord:
therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
The meek will he guide in judgment:
and the meek will he teach his way. - For thus saith the high and lofty One
that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;
I dwell in the high and holy place,
with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. - Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand:
forget not the humble. - When pride cometh, then cometh shame:
but with the lowly is wisdom. - If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
- A man's pride shall bring him low:
but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit. - Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous.
- Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth,
which have wrought his judgment;
seek righteousness, seek meekness:
it may be ye shall be hid
in the day of the Lord's anger. - Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
- Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
- Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
- With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.
- Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
- Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
- Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit:
a broken and a contrite heart,
O God, thou wilt not despise. - The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom;
and before honour is humility. - Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
- The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me;
because the Lord hath anointed me
to preach good tidings unto the meek;
he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. - Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory. Selah. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.Next verse!With image
