- I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living. - I have set Yahweh always before me.
Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. - He must increase, but I must decrease.
- Heal me, O Yahweh, and I will be healed.
Save me, and I will be saved;
for you are my praise. - I made a covenant with my eyes;
how then should I look lustfully at a young woman? - If I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing.
- I will exalt you, my God, the King.
I will praise your name forever and ever. - I will give thanks to Yahweh with my whole heart.
I will tell of all your marvelous works. - For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.
- I have taught you in the way of wisdom.
I have led you in straight paths. - Then Jesus said, “I will be with you a little while longer, then I go to him who sent me.”
- I will give thanks to you, Yahweh, among the nations.
I will sing praises to you among the peoples. - Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning,
for I trust in you.
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
for I lift up my soul to you. - Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
- But as for me, I will look to Yahweh.
I will wait for the God of my salvation.
My God will hear me. - I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
- ‘Return, you backsliding Israel,’ says Yahweh; ‘I will not look in anger on you, for I am merciful,’ says Yahweh. ‘I will not keep anger forever.’
- Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.
- Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, and in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.
- Preserve me, God, for I take refuge in you.
- Because your loving kindness is better than life,
my lips shall praise you.
So I will bless you while I live.
I will lift up my hands in your name. - But I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.
- I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go.
I will counsel you with my eye on you. - For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness.
I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more. - I love Yahweh, because he listens to my voice,
and my cries for mercy.
Because he has turned his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
