- Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
- The name of the Lord is a strong tower:
the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. - But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
- Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
- He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding:
but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
the Lord is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
- He that hath no rule over his own spirit
is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. - Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
- Before destruction the heart of man is haughty,
and before honour is humility. - Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
- Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
- He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
- There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death. - Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
- And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
- Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
- Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path. - But our God is in the heavens:
he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. - It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling. - It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy,
and after vows to make enquiry. - And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
- But godliness with contentment is great gain.
- For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
- The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.Next verse!With image
