- For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
- The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom;
and before honour is humility. - A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches,
and loving favour rather than silver and gold. - The Lord is righteous in all his ways,
and holy in all his works. - To do justice and judgment
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. - Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
- The law of the Lord is perfect,
converting the soul:
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple. - Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth. - Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
- Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
- I delight to do thy will, O my God:
yea, thy law is within my heart. - God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble. - He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. - For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
- For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
- A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth:
and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! - A friend loveth at all times,
and a brother is born for adversity. - For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
- It is better to trust in the Lord
than to put confidence in man. - Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
- This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
- Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him:
but the just shall live by his faith. - Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
- A wholesome tongue is a tree of life:
but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. - And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
