- Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people he chose for his inheritance. - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- The tongue of the righteous is choice silver,
but the heart of the wicked is of little value. - Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
- Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom. - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to act. - Every word of God is flawless;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. - Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
- Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
- All my longings lie open before you, Lord;
my sighing is not hidden from you. - Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. - He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he. - How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
- It is to one’s honor to avoid strife,
but every fool is quick to quarrel. - The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.
- Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
- In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
- “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
- The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
- Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. - So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
- For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
To do what is right and just
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.Next verse!With image
